Cutting Grass in the Heat of the Summer - Bad Boy Maverick
Man it is warming up down here on the South Coast. Summer is definitely in full swing and the Bad Boy Maverick is loving every minute of it. Had to go back to the Copperhead blades after the Ballard Gold blades wore down beyond use. Hope y'all are having a great summer so far. Stay cool and wear your sunscreen!

Does Lower Tire Pressure Mean Better Traction? - Bad Boy Mowers

How to Level the Deck on a Bad Boy Mower - Bad Boy Maverick

I took the time tonight to go ahead and level the cutting deck on my Bad Boy Maverick. I had noticed some uneven cutting, even after making sure my tires were all at the same pressure, so this was the next step. This was a pretty easy process. Bermuda Lawn Care - Mid-Height Cutting and Fertilization

Airing Up Tires to Get an Even Cut - Bad Boy Mowers Maverick

    I really enjoy your videos. My favorite push mower is a Lawnboy 21" with a magnesium deck from the 1980s. It has offset wheels making turns easier and better edging. It will also bag grass perfectly. I have had mine since 1985. What you do is find a Lawnboy mower for its deck. Then you place a briggs and stratton engine on it. Now you have the best push mower in the world with little cost that will last a lifetime. I would send you a picture of mine, but I don't know how to do that. Good luck and keep up the great videos.

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast 13 днів тому

      I had that thought too, but I scrape my deck after every 2-3 cuts and there is never a ton of build up. I think it’s from the sandy areas in my yard more than anything, but it’s still surprising to see.

  • @millerm155
    @millerm155 17 днів тому

    It's a constant problem with me. Maverick HD 54' deck. Purchased new at the end of the season last year and have already destroyed two sets of blades. Four acres of sandy turf. I always try to mow just after it rains and it helps. It has not been just with this mower and blades. All the previous mowers have produced the same result. I did use a finish mower (Rhino TM60) and would run it at a lower RPM and that would prolong the life of the blades. I have not found a blade that will last more than 4 cuttings with the Maverick HD. The good news it I never worry about grass accumulating under the deck. The inside of my deck is always clean.

    • @south_coast

    I have a question to see if you can answer it. I have a bad boy Mavic and my steering arms one of them works real good. The other one doesn’t react as well. I don’t know if it’s a linkage or if it needs to be greased up so when I go in reverse, I believe it’s the right side I have to pull it twice as far back for it to work, the problem is I don’t know what the problem is. Everything seems to be OK.

    100hr? I had that almost within a month of ownership 🤣 I've been running bad boys since they came out. The one I use right now just turned six years old the middle of May. When I stepped off the machine yesterday it had 2864 hours on it almost 3000 hours, front yard and backyard that averages about 6.7 acres not to mention the additional 5 1/2 to 6 acres up at Meyer and Hanger So every time I mow is about 13 acres I can mow it all in roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then I loaded up and go mow my daddy's place which is about 2 1/2 acres and then I drive down the road and do the camp house which is another 2 acres. And living here in East Texas mowing season starts generally around the end of February or first of March and goes all the way just about until Christmas The bad outlaw XP that I have has a 38 fuel injected rig with a 72 inch cut and not a single dime has been spent in repairs on this machine just blades and belts and believe it or not I have not changed a single spindle on the deck. No I'm not saying it isn't wore out or like brand new but it's still running like a champ I went to purchase one brand new last week but could not find one in the entire state of Texas that was a 72 inch cut with a fuel injected Briggs they all had the junky kohlers.

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast Місяць тому

    ok so you bought the pipes already threaded and all you did was use a hack saw to make shorter ones ? ....did they not have the shorter pipes you needed ?.....ya lost me on this one bro lowes and most stores that sell the black pipe offer diff lengths and then all ya do is screw the clamps on and not worry bout cutting them. Another person commented that the clamps they bought would slide off when useing them and it was because they didn't have the pipe clamp end with the handle in screwed into the threads (the pipe has to have 1 end with threads or else they wont work ).....Boggle/smh ... i know some people dont watch and listen

    • @south_coast
      @south_coast Місяць тому

      They do sell shorter pipe, but it was cheaper to buy longer ones and cut them in half. Case in point, at my local store the 6’ piece of pipe is listed at $18.77 and the 3’ is listed at $17.09, currently. The clamps only need one threaded end so why pay almost double when you can just cut them in half?

    Looks like you made all sides of deck same height. But I just bought a Maverick Hd and my owners manual says front of deck should be 1/4 lower than back of deck. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      thats is correct, the frt. is always to be a bit lower, some manufacturers say 1/2 inch
